Terms of Service

Welcome to MystiCodex. By accessing or using our website at mysticodex.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use MystiCodex. By creating an account or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are under 18, you may not use the Service.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using a supported third-party authentication provider (currently Google or Discord). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

MystiCodex offers free and paid subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to the following:

  • All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).
  • Subscriptions are billed on a monthly recurring basis. Your payment method will be automatically charged at the start of each billing cycle.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings via the Stripe Customer Portal. Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without our express written permission.
  • Reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from the Service without authorization.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of MystiCodex — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — are owned by MystiCodex or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Grimoire content sourced from public-domain traditions is cited accordingly and remains in the public domain. Content you create (spells, notes, journal entries) remains yours, though you grant us a limited license to store and display it within the Service for your use.

6. AI-Generated Content

MystiCodex uses artificial intelligence to generate Tarot reading interpretations and other content. AI-generated content is provided "as is" for entertainment and personal reflection purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose. You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. All readings, tools, and esoteric content are for entertainment and personal reflection only and are not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MystiCodex and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via the Service. Your continued use of MystiCodex after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in Utah County, Utah.
