Wheel of Fortune

Card X of the Major Arcana. A great wheel turns in the sky, inscribed with the letters TARO (also ROTA), alchemical symbols, and Hebrew letters. Sphinx sits atop, Anubis descends, and a serpent coils below. Four winged creatures occupy the corners. Upright, the Wheel of Fortune represents cycles, destiny, turning points, luck, and the ever-changing nature of life. What goes up must come down; embrace the change. Reversed, it warns of bad luck, resistance to change, or feeling stuck in a negative cycle. Associated with Jupiter and the element of Fire. The Wheel reminds the Fool that fate is always in motion.
