The High Priestess
divinationhermeticismkabbalah
Card II of the Major Arcana. The High Priestess sits between two pillars — one black (Boaz) and one white (Jachin) — before a veil decorated with pomegranates. She holds a scroll labeled TORA, partially concealed. A crescent moon rests at her feet. Upright, she represents intuition, mystery, the subconscious mind, and hidden knowledge waiting to be revealed. Trust your inner voice. Reversed, she indicates secrets, withdrawal, silence when speaking is needed, or ignoring intuition. Associated with the Moon and the element of Water. She is the guardian of esoteric wisdom and the gateway between the conscious and unconscious.
