The Chariot

divinationhermeticism

Card VII of the Major Arcana. A warrior stands in a chariot drawn by one black and one white sphinx, holding no reins but a wand. A canopy of stars covers him, and a city lies behind. Upright, The Chariot represents willpower, determination, triumph over obstacles, and control through inner strength rather than force. You are called to move forward with confidence. Reversed, it warns of lack of direction, aggression, scattered energy, or loss of control. Astrologically linked to Cancer and the element of Water. The Chariot marks the Fool's first worldly victory — mastery achieved through balancing opposing forces.
