Ouroboros

The serpent (or dragon) eating its own tail symbolizes the eternal cycle of creation and destruction, the unity of all things, and the concept of infinity. First appearing in ancient Egyptian iconography (14th century BCE), it was adopted by Greek alchemists, Gnostics, and Hermetic philosophers. "One is the All"—it represents the self-sustaining nature of the universe.
