Quincunx (150°)
A quincunx (also called an inconjunct) occurs when two planets are approximately 150° apart (within an orb of 2-3°), connecting signs that share nothing — no element, modality, or polarity. This makes the quincunx one of the most puzzling aspects: the two planets simply do not understand each other. The quincunx creates a persistent sense of needing adjustment, like an itch you cannot quite scratch. It often manifests as health issues, compulsive habits, or a nagging feeling that something is off. In a natal chart, quincunxes indicate areas requiring constant fine-tuning and adaptation. Unlike the square (which creates obvious friction), the quincunx creates subtle, chronic misalignment. The key to working with quincunxes is acceptance that perfect integration may not be possible — the goal is ongoing, conscious adjustment rather than resolution.
