Conjunction (0°)
A conjunction occurs when two planets occupy the same degree of the zodiac (within an orb of 0-8°). It is the most powerful aspect, fusing the energies of both planets into a single concentrated force. The nature of a conjunction depends entirely on the planets involved: Venus conjunct Jupiter is expansive love and abundance; Mars conjunct Saturn is disciplined force or frustrated energy. Conjunctions mark new cycles — the conjunction of the Sun and Moon is the New Moon, a time of fresh beginnings. In a natal chart, conjunctions create dominant themes that are impossible to separate — the two planets operate as one. The tighter the orb, the more intensely the energies merge. Conjunctions are neither inherently harmonious nor challenging; they are raw, potent, and inseparable.
